Slightly ironic they have gone from an Evil Apartheid side to one where they have to an average of 6 non white players (incl 2 black Africans) over each year.
As said I think there should be more resources poured in to give black cricketers opportunities & maybe even quotas in province sides but once it gets to the national side it should be purely merit.
Means when Rabada is suspended they have to find a black replacement not the best replacement

Re: 1st Test England v South Africa at Lords
Yes, merit should be the only factor for selection in any but the South African context. It's complicated there, ja?

Re: 1st Test England v South Africa at Lords
Rabada could point out to Stokes that at least he is playing for the country he was born in.
Funnily enough all the black Africans like Ntini previously and Rabada and Bavuma now would be in the team on merit anyway.
I can understand support and funding lower down the system but once it gets to the national team it should be the best whatever their colour.

Pitch is up and down and turning. Said before 250 was probably enough

Re: 1st Test England v South Africa at Lords
Unbelievable, with the runs we have in the bank, a collapse like this is disgraceful.

LOLiam Dawson bags a pair, and he's a bang average bowler. This pitch is made for Rashid, and he's a better batsman. I'd still pick him ahead of Un-Ballanced though. He wouldn't look IN if he was on 200.

Must be something in the wicket or something in the air, the way these wickets are falling?

63 for 7 in that session.

FOMB, as Bolty would say.

Re: 1st Test England v South Africa at Lords
Have England been crap today, have South Africa bowled out of their skins, or has the wicket deteriorated as predicted?

England struggling to get a 300 lead. Will the high 200s be enough?

Who's the butterfingers at long off then?

Poland aren't playing so less of the "we".

Maybe Stokes should remind Rabada that he is only in the South African team because of quotas.

There's a hum about the place today.

People talking and all that.

We'll lose more wickets if this carries on, you know.

Bit late now. Should have done that in the first

Fair bit of turn and some up and down.

Rabada with a hand over mouth celebration for Stokes' wicket.

Sven Roeder 1:43 Sun Jul 9
Re: 1st Test England v South Africa at Lords
Reckon 250 will be enough on this wicket now
Cook, Ballance & Root all out in about 4 overs

Fuck me that must have hurt, how he walked away from that I'll never know.

*sighs*

Well, at least Lords is looking like a picture postcard today.

*wipes small tear from corner of eye*

I'm curious as to what he did with the previous incident with DICKwella of Sri Lanka to earn 3 points.

Ha ha!

Sven Roeder 8:47 Sat Jul 8
Re: 1st Test England v South Africa at Lords
Rabada received 1 demerit point for advising Ben Stokes to FUCK OFF loudly enough to be picked up by stump mics.
He has 3 points from a previous incident and 4 means a one Test match ban.

Rabada suspended from second test for his foul mouth.
